After Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Hilal team defeated Al-Nassr to win the Saudi Arabian King’s Cup, Neymar was spotted making fun of the player.
Due to an injury, the Brazilian had to watch from the stands, but he still had time to crack a joke with fans back home in the Middle East as his team emerged victorious on penalties in a thrilling match.
When the final siren went after the game, CR7 was visibly upset since Al Nassr had lost out on yet another trophy.
Neymar and his buddies joined fans inside the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium to sing “Messi, Messi,” a moment that was captured on camera and shared on social media.
Since Cristiano and the Argentine have a long-standing rivalry, it was clear that Cristiano was the target of the joke.
Messi and Neymar were a huge success together when they were at Barcelona, and it was evident that the former PSG player still has a lot of respect for his old teammate.
Together with Luis Suarez, they had a strong alliance that saw the trio win numerous titles while playing for the Spanish powerhouses.
Now that the Saudi Pro League season has come to an end, Neymar and his Al-Hilal team have had a great season.
Under the direction of former Benfica manager Jorge Jesus, Al-Hilal easily defeated Al-Nassr by 14 points to win the championship, winning every game in the process.
Due to his ACL tear sustained in October, Neymar only made three appearances throughout the season. Despite this, he has been open about his first year in the Saudi Premier League.
“I’m obviously very happy,” he recently said to the press.
“Titles are always a wonderful thing. Though being on the pitch would have been preferable, I’m thrilled for my teammates.
“I’m doing OK. I’m feeling well. I can’t wait to return to the pitch. The supporters are incredible.
“Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to give them the happiness they deserve, but they can be sure we’ll have a lot of fun next season.”
