BIG BOSS: Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw warmly welcome their England teammates while Man Utd star Kobbie Mainoo is absent

Harry Maguire has decided not to go on vacation this summer to focus on getting back in top shape for Euro 2024.

The center-back, born in 1993, has not appeared for Manchester United since the 1-1 draw against Burnley on April 27 due to a muscle injury.

He missed the 2-1 win over Manchester City in the FA Cup final, but is looking to return to his best for the clash between England and Serbia in the first match of Euro 2024 on June 16 in Gelsenkirchen.

The former Leicester City star is always Gareth Southgate’s priority choice in defense. Along with John Stones, Maguire was also called up to the preliminary list of 33 players.

These names are all in the process of recovering from injuries. All three will perform three training sessions a day to prove that they are fit enough to attend the Euros.

The Three Lions will play a friendly against Bosnia at St James’ Park on Monday, before facing Iceland at Wembley on June 7.

After that, the final 26 names of the England team will go to Germany and be stationed at the Weimarer Land Span and Golf concentration camp.

Meanwhile, Mainoo, Stones, Kyle Walker, Phil Foden and Jack Grealish have time off after fighting in the FA Cup final.

Southgate spoke out in support of Maguire, who was jeered by Scottish fans during England’s 3-1 win in September.

“Maguire is a fantastic player in one of the most successful Three Lions teams that England has ever produced,” the 53-year-old coach shared.

“Should we let him endure those insults? It’s a joke. It makes me angry. Luckily, Maguire still has support from the dressing room.”
