Danny Murphy, a former midfielder for Liverpool, has stated that Virgil van Dijk’s future should come first rather than whether Mohamed Salah stays or leaves this summer.

Both players’ contracts at Anfield expire in 2025, and since they haven’t committed to new agreements, it’s possible that they may both depart for free at the conclusion of the next campaign if new terms can’t be reached.

Since Salah and Jurgen Klopp got into a heated altercation on the touchline, a lot of talk has been made regarding his predicament. Supporters are split on whether to keep the Egyptian player on longer or sell him if a good offer comes up.

Long-term prospects for Van Dijk have received far less attention; Murphy has stated that this is incorrect and needs to be resolved quickly.

When asked about keeping Salah, he told talkSPORT, “I genuinely think the more crucial signing to keep is van Dijk. “I know that sounds a bit stupid because of Salah’s goals, but Liverpool don’t struggle to make chances.”

“They don’t struggle to take chances, even though they have clearly struggled in the last six weeks to months to convert them, as we all know.” I believe that Salah would be less of a setback than Van Dijk’s departure.

Van Dijk told reporters lately that he was at the club and the captain, therefore he wanted to help, would help, and should help with the transition. This was his latest update on his contract status. Let’s see whether it is the person that shows up.
