With the only goal scored by Fullkrug, Dortmund won 1-0 against PSG in the semi-final first leg of the 2023-24 Champions League.

Dortmund and PSG created a fair match with many clear scoring opportunities, especially in the second half, however, the strikers on both sides wasted a lot and only Fullkrug successfully took advantage of the opportunity in the second half. 36 minutes to create a turning point that brought victory to the home team.

Having to play as a guest at Dortmund, PSG did not show any hesitation. The away team controlled the ball on par with the home team, but both teams were somewhat cautious in attack, so there weren’t too many scoring opportunities in the first 45 minutes. 

In the 14th minute, Sabitzer shot the ball from inside the penalty area and hit the goal. Donnarumma successfully blocked the ball. This was the first shot on target of the match. 4 minutes later, PSG responded with Dembele’s shot from the top of the penalty area sending the ball wide of the home team’s goal.

In the 35th minute, Schlotterbeck made a long pass across the line for Fullkrug to escape to receive the ball. Dortmund’s key striker controlled it neatly and shot the ball low, defeating goalkeeper Donnarumma to score the opening goal of the match. .

In the first half, PSG’s attack was somewhat lackluster with only 3 shots and all failed to hit the target. After the break, coach Enrique’s team attacked more strongly to find an equalizer. In the 51st minute, Mbappe curled the ball from the left side of the penalty area and hit the right post. In the second half of the second half, PSG players had a better attack than the home team while Dortmund focused on defending to protect the score.
