Mohamed Salah, a player for Liverpool, was caught being pursued down a street near Anfield while shooting a new Pepsi commercial in the city center.
Prior to this, the Egyptian winger has featured in promotional campaigns for the soft drink brand, alongside renowned footballers Lionel Messi, Paul Pogba, and Raheem Sterling.
In order to minimize the risk of harm to Salah just before Liverpool’s Premier League match versus Manchester United, a body double was employed to film some shots for the advertisement.
Salah’s debut in the advertisement comes as some pundits refer to him as the “best player in the world” due to his recent form.
The Liverpool forward was spotted dressed casually as he ran down the street, pursued by others on motorcycles and on foot.
It is believed that up to 50 extras were used to shoot the sequences, with production requiring a road closure in Liverpool’s Duke Street district.
Salah, accompanied by his agent Ramy Abbas Issa, visited the shoot on Thursday, only two days after scoring twice to help the Reds defeat Atletico Madrid 3-2 in the Champions League.
These strikes increased the former Roma player’s season tally to 12 goals in just 11 appearances.
He has scored in all but one of Liverpool’s league and European games this season, with the sole exception being a 2-0 victory against Burnley in August.
Salah has had a busy week, as he also attended the unveiling of a waxwork of himself at Madame Tussauds London.
When Salah saw the figure for the first time, he stated, “That looks precisely like me; it’s like gazing into a mirror. Does he have abs or not?
He later remarked, “It’s a blessing to be recognized and immortalized in this manner.
“I couldn’t believe it when I stood next to “myself”; it was like seeing my own reflection in a mirror. I can’t wait to hear what the fans say.
“It’s been an amazing experience working with the artists at Madame Tussauds London to create my first ever wax figure.”
