Conor Bradley, who hobbled off against Crystal Palace on Sunday, is now the next Liverpool casualty.
Early in the second half at Anfield, with the Reds behind 1-0 after a goal from Palace winger, the Northern Ireland defender wounded himself and was substituted for Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The physios on the field promptly examined Bradley, who appeared to be in some difficulty after being assisted off the field. Alexander-Arnold, who was playing for Klopp’s team for the first time in more than two months, took Bradley’s place.
Due to the injury, Bradley, who has performed admirably in Alexander-Arnold’s absence, is unlikely to play in Thursday’s Europa League quarterfinal second leg against Atalanta. Klopp’s team is hoping to overcome a three-goal deficit from the first leg earlier this week.
With the recent returns of Diogo Jota, Alisson Becker, Curtis Jones, Stefan Bajcetic, and Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool has experienced a wave of encouraging injury boosts. However, the loss of Bradley further compounds the list of players that prevent Klopp from starting Joel Matip, Thiago Alcantara, or Ben Doak.
Bradley’s status is due to be updated by Klopp at full time, and he will probably be scheduled for a scan at the team’s AXA Training Centre on Monday.
