Liverpool secured a crucial 2-1 victory at Anfield, led by an outstanding performance by Alexis Mac Allister against his old team, to take the lead in the standings for a few hours.
Caoimhin Kelleher (out of 10) – 7
Kelleher was once again a dependable presence in goal, continuing his excellent play in Alisson’s absence.
Brighton was a threat, but he was helpless to stop Danny Welbeck’s well-taken opening and remained untouched throughout the first half.
A productive but peaceful day at work ended with a crucial save in the late afternoon. Moreover, good distribution.
Conor Bradley – 7
After starting the FA Cup against Man United on the bench, Bradley returned to the starting lineup, and he continued to play better and better. Before halftime, Simon Adingra gave the Northern Irishman a rough time defensively, opening up the right side of Liverpool’s defense at will. However, Bradley was effective moving forward, disrupting games, getting into the final third and creating solid connections with Mohamed Salah. He also started to defend more consistently.
Jarell Quansah – 7
Even in crucial games, it no longer seems problematic to have Quansah in the starting lineup, although this was a slight indication of his inexperience. The Englishman struggled to keep up with Brighton’s explosive assault alongside Bradley, but he persevered in his duty and improved during the match.sophisticated with the ball and unafraid to venture into the final third. Late in the game, as the pressure was building, he produced an outstanding defensive runback.
Virgil van Dijk – 8

(Image via Propaganda/David Rawcliffe)Van Dijk may believe he should have been stronger for Welbeck’s goal, but he has been enormous all season, and this was no different. The Dutchman used a combination of leadership and aerial skill to try to keep together what is still a haphazard Liverpool defense. His amazing season is still going strong. He found himself pressing in midfield at times, which provided for an interesting tactical struggle.
Joe Gomez – 7
Gomez’s inclusion was inevitable with Andy Robertson sidelined; even if both were healthy, he may currently be the starting left-back.Despite a few hesitant possession moments in hazardous locations, this was not his finest game of the season, but he was still good all around.physically superior than Tariq Lamptey and always projecting a strong presence when pressing.
Wataru Endo – 7
After serving with Japan internationally, Endo held onto his position with characteristic tenacity.Similar to Van Dijk, he could not have been entirely satisfied with his contribution to the first goal, as he did not quite get near enough to Welbeck.Other than that, though, Endo was orderly and went about his work with no fuss.
Dominik Szoboszlai – 7
Szoboszlai is a player who is still developing, and for the most part, Liverpool’s No. 8 put on a quiet show. After Welbeck scored from his attempted interception, the Anfield crowd became agitated as he used the ball a few more times.Nevertheless, he put forth a lot of effort and was generally reliable, contributing significantly to Salah’s goal with a brilliant pass to Mac Allister.
Alexis Mac Allister – 9 (Man of the Match)
In the last few months, how many times has Mac Allister been the standout player on the field? That was once more the case on Sunday, when the 25-year-old’s vision was astounding, as he repeatedly made inch-perfect passes to Salah.Though his lack of pace caused him to be severely booked in the first half on a few occasions, he once again shown his virtuosity and helped Salah with a usually clever threaded ball.
Mohamed Salah – 7
League match against Brighton & Hove Albion FC at Anfield, Mohamed Salah of Liverpool celebrates his team’s second goal. (Image via Propaganda/David Rawcliffe)Salah gave a variable performance; while he had excellent movement, the rest of his play was unsatisfactory. The Egyptian fired wildly or hesitantly at the target for an hour after leaving his shooting boots at home, and at times it seemed like he was making snap decisions. But then, in typical Salah manner, he buried a finish in front of the Kop, winning the game once more. His total for a Premier League game is twelve shots, but far too many of them were poor or off-target.The pass for the goal that was disallowed was his finest moment.
Luis Diaz – 8
Lately, Diaz has truly made a splash, both in terms of his overall skill and the final product, which some have criticized him for missing. The winger, who now has 12 goals this season, calmed everyone down at Anfield with a brilliantly placed equalizer.a constant supply of excellence and enthusiasm.
Darwin Nunez – 6
As expected, Nunez led the line, although he was quiet in what felt like a heavy metal game.He constantly demonstrated willing running and almost managed to get the ball in from a tight angle before halftime, but his link-up play let him down much too frequently. However, he always tried to outdo Brighton and contributed to the cause.Kelleher was once again a dependable presence in goal, continuing his excellent play in Alisson’s absence.Brighton was a threat, but he was helpless to stop Danny Welbeck’s well-taken opening and remained untouched throughout the first half.A productive but peaceful day at work ended with a crucial save in the late afternoon.
