Even though 2023 is almost over, New Balance is still acquiring well-known athletes to its roster. The most recent recruit is Endrick, a teenage soccer sensation from Brazil.
The athlete, who is only 17 years old, has signed with New Balance, which the company said in a statement on Tuesday, is a part of its mission to “championing the next generation of talent, seamlessly blending athletic excellence with cultural influence.”
Andrew McGarty, global director of sports marketing for global football at New Balance, said in a statement, “It’s incredibly rare to witness a player so infectiously exciting and determined to carve his own path at such a young age as Endrick, and we’re honored to become a part of what we believe will be a historic journey together.” “Endrick embodies all we stand for as a brand and our fearlessly independent character. We are excited to work with Endrick and his family to give back to the Brazilian community in a way that reflects both our brand’s beliefs and his. We are quite happy to have him join the New Balance family since he has the entire world at his fingertips.
Endrick was born. Playing for the Palmeiras and Brazil’s youth teams, Felipe Moreira de Sousa, a soccer player, rose to international fame at the age of 15. At the age of sixteen, he made history in October 2022 by becoming the youngest player to ever play for São Paulo’s Palmeiras soccer team. With 11 goals this season, Endrick helped Palmeiras win Brazilian Serie A for the second time in a row.
Endrick’s call-up to the Brazil national team for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers was revealed on November 6. On Nov. 16, he made his debut for Brazil in a match against Colombia, becoming the youngest player to represent the country in nearly 60 years and the fourth youngest player ever. And when Endrick turns eighteen in July 2024, he’ll sign with Real Madrid. According to reports from December 2022, Real Madrid and Palmeiras reached an agreement to sell Endrick for €60 million, or $64 million at the time of conversion.
Endrick released a statement saying, “It is a great honor to join the New Balance family and partner with a brand that is aligned with the same core values that I embody both on and off the pitch.” “I am confident that New Balance will be there for me at every turn as I pursue excellence in my professional career.”
Additionally, New Balance unveiled the exclusive “Accolade” Tekela v4+. Gold-colored, low soccer boot execution. The company claims that these were made as a surprise for Endrick in honor of his call-up to the Brazil national team and his contribution to Palmeiras winning the league.
