The Colombian winger is still seriously considering a move to Spain, according to Mane Diaz, the father of the Liverpool star, as formidable teams like Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid loom.
Speaking with Cadena Ser, Diaz Sr. stated: “Real Madrid and Atlético were never serious.”
“Liverpool has always been more committed to signing Luis.
“We still have hope, though.
“Luis is playing well and Spanish clubs are always active in the market.”
On Saturday, October 28, Diaz Sr. and his wife were kidnapped at gunpoint from a Colombian gas station.
Following a 12-day period of captivity, Diaz Sr. was finally freed in November. Diaz’s mother, Cilenis Marulanda, was saved in no time.
Diaz’s contract with the Reds expires in2027; he moved from Porto.
In 86 games, he has accrued 22 goals and 13 assists.
This season, there have been 11 goals and five assists.
Even if Manchester United eliminated them from the FA Cup prior to the international break, Jurgen Klopp’s team is still vying for three titles this year.
They are tied for first place in the Premier League with Arsenal and have their sights set on winning trophies in the Europa League.
In Klopp’s final season at Anfield, the Reds have already won the Carabao Cup.
When the German departs at the end of the season, Xabi Alonso and Roberto De Zerbi have both been mentioned as potential replacements for the manager position.
However, former player Glen Johnson feels that Gareth Southgate, the England manager, should be appointed by the club.
