“Karma is the guy on the Chiefs,” Bass remarked after sharing the image on his Instagram Story.
Both Lance Bass and Taylor Swift’s beau, Travis Kelce, are admirers! The 44-year-old member of *NSYNC posed for a photo behind the scenes on Wednesday during Justin Timberlake’s free performance in Los Angeles. Taking to his Instagram Story, Bass—who has never concealed his admiration for Swift—posted a photo of the two with a reference to Swift’s now-viral song “Karma” and the lyric “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs.” Bass could be seen in the photo putting his arm around Kelce and smiled widely. The 34-year-old member of the boy band jokedly tagged Kelce beneath the photo and said, “#StillNotTaylorSwift.”He and his bandmates, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, and Chris Kirkpatrick, went to Timberlake’s concert for their first live onstage performance since the 2013 VMAs. The group performed a mix of their best songs as well as their most recent tune, “Paradise,” which is available on Justin Timberlake’s recently released album Everything I Thought It Was. “Would be fun to perform this together sometime!” On Timberlake’s Instagram post teasing the song, Kirkpatrick, 52, said. With a jest, Fatone, 47, exclaimed, “I sound good!!!!” Bass said, “I’ve been waiting forever, right here for this moment.” Apart from attending the event, Kelce also posed for a sweet photo with Kirkpatrick’s 6-year-old son, Nash. Karlyn Skladany, Kirkpatrick’s wife, shared a photo on her Instagram Story with the words, “Something big happened tonight….”
Swift, 34, is a huge admirer of *NSYNC, just like Kelce. At the 2023 VMAs, Swift’s acceptance speech began with her declaration of her love for *NSYNC, as the group presented her friendship bracelets while presenting her with the best pop video award.
“I owned your dolls. As in, are you working on anything? What will occur at this point… Swift remarked, “I need to know what they’re going to do because they’re going to do it.
“You’re pop personified, therefore it’s just too much to accept this from your golden pop hands,” she continued. “Thank you for the friendship bracelets.”
Bass later acknowledged that the favorable response the band received was due in large part to Swift and her fan base.
It’s stunning, don’t you think? It’s a dream come true to be this old and yet have this much excitement from the fans. I never realized the fandom would become that obsessed. In September 2023, he said to Entertainment Tonight, “I blame Taylor Swift.”
“I think she sicced the Swifties on us and I think the Swifties and the *NSYNCers just kind of created this tsunami. And I think it’s been so fun,” Bass added.
