Social media was quickly used by supporters to express their dismay at Erik ten Hag’s apparent formation decision.

Some even brought up the song “505” by Arctic Monkeys.

However, a third supporter spoke up for Ten Hag, saying, “At this point, it’s the players, can’t even blame Ten Hag.”

Despite United’s narrow build, Liverpool didn’t find the back of the net until the very end of the first half.

Liverpool led at the half thanks to goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Mohamed Salah, who both scored swiftly to complete a comeback.
