JURGEN KLOPP stormed out of an interview after Liverpool’s FA Cup elimination to Manchester United, calling out a journalist’s “dumb question.”
Jurgen Klopp walked out of an interview after blasting a reporter’s ‘dumb question’
Amad Diallo’s goal in the 121st minute put an end to the Reds manager’s aspirations of winning a quadruple in his final season at Anfield, leaving him furious.
With just eight minutes remaining in extra time, Marcus Rashford tied the score for United, bringing Liverpool back to a 3-2 lead.
In the closing moments, Diallo struck the Merseysiders on the counter.
And United will play Championship team Coventry in the semi-finals next month as compensation for their spectacular comeback.
After the game, Klopp was visibly not happy. He expressed this in his post-match interview.
However, a query from a Scandinavian reporter in the tunnel left him furious.
“Normally, intensity is the name of your game, so why did it become so difficult in extra time?” the journalist asked, setting off a fire.
Klopp became infuriated by this line of inquiry and shouted, saying, “A bit of a dumb question, I have to say, because you see us that often.”
“You would wonder, ‘How can they have greater resources?’ if you never saw us. We have been playing a lot of games lately.
“I am not sure how many games United actually played. That question genuinely disappoints me, yet it seems like you believed it was well-thought out.
Nevertheless, the reporter seemed unfazed and asked, “So, too many games?”
However, it was the last straw for Klopp.
Then he yelled, “Oh my god. It is clear that you are not in terrific form, and I do not feel nervous around you.
The reporter appeared surprised when Klopp exited the interview in an astonishing manner.
One fan’s response on social media was, “Perfectly reasonable questions.”
Someone else said, “Excellent reporting this.”
Plus: “Sensational viewing,” said one.
