After Travic Kelce was romantically linked to Taylor Swift, Kayla Nicole, his ex-girlfriend, seemed to address the “backlash and embarrassment” she had experienced online.
The sportscaster dated the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs on and off for five years, from 2017 to 2022.
Once the popstar’s relationship with Kelce became public, trolls started to focus on the ex-NFL player, Nicole, and started comparing her appearance to Swift’s.
Along with “unnecessary comments,” they also mentioned Taylor Swift’s pay and included GIFs under her Instagram photos.
The 31-year-old seems to address the criticism she’s received in a recent Instagram video that shows her reading a letter she penned to Black women.
In the stirring video posted to Instagram, she declared, “It’s always been really important for me to use my platform not to create division but to elevate and unite women – Black women specifically.”
Nicole began her open letter with the words, “Dear Black girl, you might be called a traitor for falling in love.” You might think that those closest to you would defend you, but you’ll soon realise that people don’t defend what they don’t believe in.
They’ll tell you that you’re not enough in the same sentence. Not virtuous enough, not prosperous enough, not successful enough, and possibly not smart enough.
