The winger got a point for Spain in a familiarly unfriendly setting. After a long, hard-fought game, the score was tied.
In almost an hour of football, Vinicius Junior’s two goals were the difference. The Brazilian scored twice to help his team tie 2-2 with Valencia on Saturday. The game between the two teams was ridiculous, with lots of debate, great goals, and bad defense.
Valencia scored first, thanks to a mistake by Vinicius that gave the home team the ball in a dangerous spot. Hugo Duro flicked a clever header into the far corner. Two minutes later, they scored again when Roman Yaremchuk beat Andriy Lunin after Dani Carvajal made a terrible backpass.
Around the halftime break, Vinicius scored a goal that tied the game. He did this by scoring into an empty net after Valencia’s defense failed to deal with a bobbling Carvajal cross. After 53 minutes, Bellingham almost tied the game, but a smart save stopped him after a great run. Twenty minutes later, though, Vinicius wasn’t denied. He nodded the ball into an open net after Brahim Diaz, the replacement, set up the play so well.
