Evangelos Marinakis, the owner of Nottingham Forest, is facing an FA rap for his outburst during the players’ tunnel confrontation with match officials following Liverpool’s dramatic 99th-minute winner at the City Ground.

Referee Paul Tierney’s suspension of play during a Forest raid in stoppage time due to Ibrahima Konate’s head injury left the home team inconsolable. 

The French defender immediately stood back up, and Liverpool, who had begun with a drop-kick, were unable to return the ball to Forest.

As the clock approached the 99th minute, Darwin Nunez scored for Jurgen Klopp’s team, upsetting Forest with the amount of stoppage time allowed. 

After the game, Tierney was approached by several coaches and home players, with Marinakis present as well.

Following the game, the Greek stormed the tunnel and questioned match officials, asking why Forest had been denied decisions so often this season. 

Due to their objections, Felipe, an unutilized substitute, was booked and coach Steven Reid was dismissed.

Despite being clearly enraged, manager Nuno Espirito Santo declined to face an FA charge for disparaging the referee. 

The Portuguese said, “I will not comment on the referee,” when pressed to discuss the circumstances. Refrain from pressing. We had a difficult week because this is a recurring circumstance.
