Real Madrid came back from being down 2-0 to draw with Valencia at the Mestalla on Saturday night. They thought they had won all three points when Jude Bellingham scored a goal past Giorgi Mamardashvili in the 99th minute.
But about a second before Bellingham’s goal, Brahim Diaz crossed the ball in, and referee Jesus Gil Manzano blew the full-time whistle. The Real Madrid players went crazy when they learned Bellingham’s goal would not count.
Bellingham was one of Carlo Ancelotti’s players who confronted Gil Manzano. His response seemed too strong, as he was given a straight red card, which means he will miss Real Madrid’s game against Celta Vigo next weekend.

Real Madrid and Bellingham will be upset that this late goal didn’t count. They would have won the game against Valencia if Gil Manzano had waited two or three more seconds before blowing the whistle. But it means they’ve lost points twice in three weeks.
