When Luka Modric’s contract expires at the end of the 2023–24 campaign, he will leave Real Madrid.
Modric adhered to his plan to extend his contract by one year at the beginning of this season. However, that will alter in 2024. The legendary Croatian player is rumored to be upset by his lack of playing in recent months, and there are conflicting reports on his relationship with Carlo Ancelotti.Ancelotti has consistently complimented Modric on his professionalism and effectiveness when called upon. Modric is ready to play until he becomes 40 because the Saudi Pro League and the MLS both made offers to him in the summer, even though he will turn 38 in September.
Both offers would be extremely lucrative, but according to reports from the Croatian daily 24 Sata, he has received an offer to return to his former team from Dinamo Zagreb’s manager, Mirko Barisic.
Before signing with Tottenham in 2008, Modric started his ascent to the top of the world football rankings with Dinamo Zagreb. He continues to reflect on that moment.
Modric will consider Barisic’s bold proposal and might decide to postpone making a choice until after Croatia wins the 2024 European Championship.
