“You’re toast to me, you come after my friend Taylor,” 39-year-old Antonoff emphasised in a recent interview..Taylor Swift can always rely on Jack Antonoff.Since they first collaborated in 2012, the 39-year-old record producer and 34-year-old Swift have been working together. In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, Antonoff lauded Swift’s amazing songwriting abilities and said anyone who disagreed was “toast” to him.
Naturally, Antonoff took offence when Damon Albarn implied in a January 2022 interview with the Times that Swift didn’t create her own songs. At the time, the songwriter described him as a “herb” on Twitter.
“I’m a little bitch sometimes,” Antonoff said to the Times in reference to his social media comebacks.
Antonoff continued, saying, “But you come after my friend Taylor, you’re toast to me.” He went on to say that criticising Swift’s music is akin to contesting someone’s religious beliefs. Simply said, avoid going there.
Swift also chastised Albarn at the moment, tweeting, “@DamonAlbarn” You had me completely enthralled until I saw this. I write all of the music myself.” “Your hot take is completely false and SO damaging,” she continued. You don’t have to enjoy my songs, but trying to minimise my writing is very messed up. Whoa. PS: In case you were wondering, I wrote this tweet by myself.”
Since then, Albarn has expressed regret and said that his remarks were “reduced to clickbait.”
“I really and completely apologise. I would never want to diminish the quality of your songwriting. “I hope you get it,” he continued.
