SPECIAL AND STRANGE: Klopp compares LFC’s two-goal hero Jayden Danns, to darts sensation Luke Littler after he sealed 3-0 FA Cup win

After Luke Littler, a 17-year-old darts star, scored two goals off the bench in Liverpool’s victory over Southampton last night, manager Jurgen Klopp said that the team’s new young hero, Jayden Danns, might benefit from a conversation with Littler.

Just seven days have passed since Danns’ first-team debut. In that time, he has participated in a cup final at Wembley and scored two goals at Anfield to round off an incredible week. Lewis Koumas, who was making his debut, joined the young player on the scoresheet.
Additionally, Klopp has drawn comparisons between Danns and the rest of Liverpool’s youthful squad with Littler, the runner-up in the darts World Championship, who won the hearts of the country over the New Year’s holiday by unexpectedly making it to the final.

‘It is a little bit like the new darts sensation, it is fine for tonight,’ said Klopp.

‘Tomorrow, leave the boys in the corner. Everyone who is with us, we should have our moments, they will have more moments than we expect.

“Exceptional talents—it is naturally unnatural for an eighteen-year-old boy to be as composed as you prefer.”

Calm as he may be, he recognised that the goaltender could not handle Conor Bradley’s shot on the second goal.

“Remember to (ask for) 12 signings when the transfer window opens!”

The most recent child to make his debut was 16-year-old Trey Nyoni, who impressed Klopp with his maturity on the ball despite having no body. I’m not sure how much weight he is. It is both unique and peculiar to me.

“I never experienced that—playing with so many kids.” It’s a truly fascinating experience.

After Danns, 18, spectacularly chipped the ball over Southampton goalkeeper Joe Lumley for his second of the game, Klopp heaped praise on Danns’ offensive prowess.

The centre forward should have already scored for the senior team during their triumph over Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday, according to the German manager.

“Very definitely striking instincts,” he remarked of the 18-year-old.

Without such, there is no such thing as a youth level. In the championship game, he demonstrated his ability to arrive at the appropriate time three times, and if he had a longer toe, he most likely would have scored early.

With Bobby Clark, James McConnell, Bradley, and Koumas all starting for the Reds and contributing to their triumph, Klopp’s faith in his young players paid off tonight.

For Liverpool, who have eight academy graduates on their bench for the Sunday final, the future is undoubtedly bright.

“It feels pretty good for me, but I can’t imagine how this must feel for the boys,” he continued.

“This is the academy week.”
