The Liverpool player won FIFA Player of the Year for his efforts in competing for both the Champions League championship and the Premier League runner-up spot.

Virgil van Dijk is preparing to embark on the newest adventure with his family.

The Dutchman will be joined on Merseyside by his childhood girlfriend, Rike Nooitgedagt.

Since making his striker debut for Groningen, he’s gone a long way. When his defensive abilities were quickly recognised, Van Dijk was shifted to the back. Before coming to Merseyside, he visited Scotland and the south coast of England. And he has had the support of his lifelong friend Rike Nooitgedagt and their dog at every turn.

If not for Nooitgedagt’s dedication to her spouse, she very well could have been making a name for herself in the fashion industry, even with the immense success Van Dijk’s work has brought him.

The couple’s daughter was born in 2014.

The pair has been together since their early childhood, and when Nooitgedagt began his football career, he was already well-known for his work as a fashion sales manager. However, Van Dijk left her job in 2013 to move to Glasgow with her fiancé when she was given the opportunity to join Celtic.

She revealed shortly after the deal was signed: “I managed sales for a number of fashion brands that I introduced to the Dutch retailers.” I loved football, but I had to step aside and follow my boyfriend wherever it takes him. So far, we’ve settled quite well and are having fun on adventures with our amazing puppy.

Beside a picture of the couple, the WAG said candidly, “I love you not only for who you are but for who I am when I’m with you.” On the internet, the couple has been open about their affection for one another.

“You are the love of my life,” Virgil wrote with a photo of them on vacation.

The couple also used to often share images of their adorable dog on social media.

Rike Nooitgedagt quit her job as a fashion sales manager to be by Van Dijk’s side.

They made their love official in 2014, despite the fact that it was a pretty dramatic birth. Rike was supposed to be out of the game by September of that year, but it was also Van Dijk’s first senior international call-up. Desperate to see his first child born, the star arranged for his fiancée to have an induced delivery. Van Dijk was not selected, so he had to wait for his Dutch bow, but everything else went well as tiny feet began to appear at their house. His first cap came against Kazakhstan in October 2015, not long after he moved to the Premier League, signalling the approaching coming of that moment, which arrived a year later.

Public displays of affection between the pair are now infrequent because it appears that Rike has erased his social media profiles. Rather, the defender would rather restrict his posts to football-related subjects.
