KING OF FASHION: Liverpool star Van Dijk shows off his cool style when collaborating with Vogue Debut for the latest collection

From Pitch to Poses: Birdiefootball’s Virgil Van Dijk Wins in Fashion with His Vogue Debut

The Liverpool player loves non-branded imagery and highlights the value of design for football players off the pitch, so working with Rains is an exciting opportunity.

When the Liverpool Dutchman and his teammates are next in the locker room, Virgil Van Dijk will definitely make fun of them by saying things like, “don’t tell me that you model if you ain’t been in Vogue.” He recently made his editorial modelling debut in the February/March issue of Vogue Scandinavia for the Danish outerwear company Rains.

Along with Rains co-founders Philip Lotko and Daniel Brix, Virgil was reportedly available to appear for photos at the brand’s request. The Liverpool captain took use of his rare day off to participate in the photo session in England, where he is based.

One of the founders said of Virgil, “Virgil represents a lot of good values and one I see in us.” He is a family man who strives to be the best at what he does, a leader both on and off the pitch. Being able to collaborate with Virgil due to our shared ideals is a tremendous accomplishment.

The Liverpool captain said that he has always appreciated how well the products fit in an interview with Vogue, where he stressed why he thinks Rains is a perfect fit and why they click so well. Collaborating with Rains is a great chance because he further emphasised the importance of design for football players off the pitch and showed his appreciation for non-branded imagery.
