Burnley got off to a strong start at Anfield, which made things tough for the home team in the opening minutes. However, Liverpool quickly pushed back the opposition to grab the lead.

Jota headed the ball into the net following a corner kick to give Liverpool the lead in the thirty-first minute. The goal came about by coincidence as the ball fell on Jota after the Portuguese striker was stopped from racing towards the goal. The Trafford custodian misunderstood the landing location and unintentionally raced out.

In the last minutes of the first half, Burnley made a tremendous comeback. Burnley equalised in the 45th minute following a couple attempts that threatened the opposition’s goal. Following a corner kick, O’Shea headed the ball into the upper right corner. The goal that Kelleher, the custodian, was unable to stop.

Liverpool kept up their attacking pressure after the break in an effort to score additional goals. Elliott crossed the ball from the right to the near corner in the 52nd minute. The ball struck the Burnley player’s foot and bounced just in front of Diaz, who headed in from five metres out. In this game, Liverpool scored another goal through pure luck.

Liverpool’s comfortable performance was aided by having the lead. Although the home team consistently produced scoring opportunities, they struggled to get their third goal. In the second half, Burnley had several of opportunities to score, but they also missed one to draw the score.

Fofana broke free to receive the ball and faced the Liverpool custodian in the 67th minute. Regretfully, he sent the ball out after curling it with his right foot. Burnley quickly paid the price after missing their finest opportunity to tie the score.

Elliott crossed the ball well in the 79th minute, and Nunez headed it into the left corner of the goal with a shake of his head to make the score 3-1. Burnley had little chance of winning because of the two-goal deficit. Sadly, the away team’s score was 1-3 as they left.

Following renovation, the renovated Anfield Road Stand welcomed its inaugural crowd of 60,000.

Due to their most recent loss away from Turf Moor, Burnley is now tied for last place in the table with 13 points.

Due to their defeat by Arsenal last weekend, Liverpool is now only two points clear of either Man City or Arsenal under coach Jurgen Klopp. With one game remaining, Man City has the potential to dethrone Liverpool as the top team.

In the opening match of Premier League round 24, Man City and Pep Guardiola put pressure on Everton early on, winning 2-0 to take a brief lead.

Liverpool, however, had a good reaction following the loss in London. In round 24 of the Premier League, Liverpool made a triumphant return home to host Burnley. By winning 3-1 and earning all three points, the team maintained its top status.
