SKY SPORTS viewers were quick to spot a gaffe during Liverpool’s semi-final against Fulham involving our own Mac Allister

SKY SPORTS viewers quickly identified an error in the commentary during Liverpool’s semi-final against Fulham.

When the error was discovered by supporters, Jurgen Klopp’s squad was in the midst of a two-legged Carabao Cup semifinals tie against Fulham.

Daniel Mann, a commentator for Sky, mistook Alexis Mac Allister for his father and former football player Carlos by accident.

An individual stated: “‘Carlos Mac Allister’, this commentator just called Alexis by his dad’s name.”

An additional participant stated: “Did the @SkySports commentator just say Carlos Mac Allister or am I hearing things?”

“Who is Carlos Mac Allister?” quipped one.

“Did the commentator refer to him as Carlos Mac Allister?” inquired another.

Carlos, the father of Mac Allister, was a teammate of Diego Maradona but was not selected for the 1994 World Cup.

He represented Boca Juniors and Racing Club at the club level prior to entering the political arena after his retirement.

Francis, 27, and Kevin, 25, the older siblings of Mac Allister, play for Rosario Central and Argentinos Juniors, respectively, in the Argentine top flight.

Uncle Patricio, on the other hand, also had a prosperous career, primarily with Estudiantes.

Mac Allister, a World Cup champion, transferred from Brighton to Liverpool for £55 million in the summer.

Additionally, he will commemorate his inaugural cup final appearance with the club, having advanced past Fulham 3-2 in two legs to secure a meeting with Chelsea.

In the first leg at Anfield, goals from Curtis Jones and Cody Gakpo cancelled out Willian’s opener.

Luis Diaz opened the scoring in the comeback before Issa Diop equalized, but Liverpool held on.
