After losing to the Hammers, Mikel Arteta’s team fell to second place in the Premier League. However, they have an opportunity to rise back to the top of the standings before Liverpool’s match against Newcastle on Monday night. Kai Havertz completed his one-match suspension during the Hammers game, so he will be available for selection once more.

The Gunners are in desperate need for their front three to start being clinical again with Arteta thought to be prioritising a move for a new striker in the January transfer window. So, we have taken a look at three things spotted from Arsenal training on Saturday afternoon.

Gunners spirit

Gunners cut a frustrated figure on Thursday after failing to convert a few golden chances to get the Gunners back into the game against West Ham but Arsenal stars seemed in good spirits as Arsenal finalised their plans ahead of the Premier League clash against Fulham.

Jorginho leadership

Jorginho was pictured instructing a number of his teammates throughout training – highlighting his leadership qualities once again. Despite not featuring as much as he had hoped for this season, the Italian midfielder is still proving to be a crucial member of Arteta’s squad.

Kai Havertz involved

Kai Havertz was involved in training as usual as he prepares to return to action following his suspension. The Germany international is expected to come back into midfield alongside Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice, barring any injury concerns ahead of kick-off at Craven Cottage on Sunday.
