To brighten the days of young people, Manchester United football player Mason Mount paid a visit to a children’s hospice in Surrey.
The midfield player first revealed himself as a Together for Short Lives patron back in
On his first visit to a hospice since becoming a patron, Mount enjoyed a unique football-themed afternoon with critically ill children and their families at Christopher’s Children’s Hospice in Guildford.
“I am really passionate about raising awareness of the lifeline support that children’s hospices like Shooting Star Children’s Hospices and Together for Short Lives provide to seriously ill children and their families so that every family that needs it can access lifeline care,” the speaker stated.
“It was wonderful to meet the kids today and experience firsthand the warmth, happiness, and laughter that children’s hospices provide.”
Dedicated to maximising the time that critically ill children and their families spend together, Together for Short Lives is a UK charity.
The group supports 54 children’s hospices in the UK, including Christopher’s, which is a division of Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, by raising funds and awareness for them.
“We are so pleased that Mason was able to meet some of the amazing children and families we support and see first-hand the vital care children’s hospices provide,” said Andy Fletcher, CEO of Together for Short Lives.
“His commitment to spreading awareness is invaluable because it will enable more families to get the support they need to spend as much time as possible with their seriously ill child.”
