The European champions conclude the first phase of this season’s competition with a trip to Red Star Belgrade with the aim of maintaining our 100% record so far.
In a group also consisting of RB Leipzig and Young Boys, Man City beat the Bundesliga and Swiss outfits home and away after opening the defence of our crown with a 3-1 win over the nine-time Serbian Superliga champions at the Etihad Stadium.
Consequently, as the winners of Group G, Pep Guardiola’s team has already guaranteed our spot in the round of 16.
The match is scheduled for just three days after Man City defeated Luton 2-1 in the Premier League to get back to winning ways, a testament to how hectic the winter schedule can be.
Those involved in the success in Hertfordshire took part in a recovery session before our meticulous preparation for Red Star Belgrade continued on the field at the City Football Academy.
