‘Key to Success’: Man Utd Star Mason Greenwood Spotted Training With 7-Year-Old Boots Even After Being Dropped by Nike

After being released by Nike, Mason Greenwood trained in seven-year-old footwear with his new team, Getafe.

In preparation for what might be his La Liga debut later this month, the attacker was seen working out with his Getafe colleagues.

Greenwood has made his Getafe debut with a ball kick.

His footwear were seven years old from Nike.

The Nike contract for Greenwood was terminated last year.

Despite Nike terminating his contract in 2022, he continued to wear Nike Mercurial Superfly 4 footwear.

Greenwood hasn’t participated in full team training in well over a year, but he was recently spotted working out by himself in a park with his father.

Greenwood wore black Nike Phantom GX footwear during the June park session.

He hasn’t signed a new contract with any boot manufacturer since Nike fired him.

It’s unlikely that Greenwood is match fit, and the images of him working out suggest that strength and conditioning are more important to him.

Getafe also posted a video of fans shouting Greenwood’s welcome to the training field outside of Madrid.

Mason Greenwood, we adore you, was the caption.

The La Liga team has given the 21-year-old attacker a route back to football.

“Hello Getafe fans, it’s Mason here,” he wrote in a message to the supporters.

“I’m thrilled to be here and am eager to get going.”

Additionally, Getafe shared a photo of Greenwood waving the blue home uniform of the team on Twitter.

“Mason Greenwood ya esta aqui” is the caption, which translates to “Mason Greenwood is here.”

Shortly before Friday’s deadline for the summer transfer window, the Spanish club made the announcement.

During his stay in Spain, United will pay the majority of his £75,000 weekly salary and not incur any loan fees.

“The move enables Greenwood to begin rebuilding his career away from Manchester United,” the club said in a further statement.

“During this time of transition, the club will continue to provide support to Mason and his family.”

After an internal probe after his arrest, United had already declared that Greenwood and the team had “mutually agreed” to separate ways.

The Crown Prosecution Service dropped all allegations against him in February after he was taken into custody in October of last year.

There are two more years left on Greenwood’s contract, and if the club chooses, they may extend it by an additional year.

The club would have been liable for more than £8 million if they had been unable to sell him.

It comes after further details of Greenwood’s transfer to Getafe were made public, including his £75,000 weekly salary and uniform number.
