FORMER ARSENAL captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang “turned into Alejandro Garnacho” as he scored an incredible overhead kick last night.
The 34-year-old striker now plays for Marseille and lined-up for them in the Europa League against Ajax.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang produced a moment of magic for Marseille against Ajax
Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho scored a stunning overhead kick at Everton
Ex-Arsenal star Aubameyang repeated the trick with one of his own last night
The bicycle kick was the standout strike from the ex-Arsenal star’s hat-trick
And this time, the Gabonese star gave fans another incredible performance, just days after stealing the show at Everton with his incredible overhead kick.
During the match at the Stade Velodrome, Aubamayeng scored three goals, the first coming from the penalty spot in the ninth minute.
Shortly after, Brian Brobbey tied the score, causing the absurd match to really go into overdrive.
Chancel Mbemba restored Marseille’s lead but once again Brobbey got Ajax level on the half hour mark.
However, then came the magical moment just minutes into the second half.
A cross from the byline was swung in from the right, and with his back to goal, Aubameyang swung his body up and connected with a bicycle kick from eight yards out to score the best goal of the night.
Chuba Akpom came off the bench to equalise for Ajax as Aubameyang’s effort looked to have been in vain, but once again it would be the ex-Gunners ace who had the final say.
As the clash entered the third minute of stoppage-time, he scored another penalty to secure his hat-trick and fire Marseille top of the group.
However, it was Aubameyang’s spectacular bicycle kick that had most fans talking on social media afterwards.
“Bro thinks he’s Garnacho,” wrote one response to the goal clip.
Another said: “He’s turning into Garnacho.”
A fellow supporter said: “Aubameyang taking inspiration from Garnacho’s weekend acrobatics!”
Another wrote: “Aubameyang has been watching Garnacho – keeping up with the Prem still.”
While another added: “Aubameyang wanted to remind us of Garnacho’s goal.”
After a terrible season at Chelsea, former Gunner Aubameyang moved to Marseille in the summer.
With his three goals last night, he now has eight goals in 18 club appearances.
