Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has been putting his players through their paces ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League encounter with Lens.

White left the London Colney training fields with a strength and conditioning coach to work with individuals, raising questions about his availability for Wednesday after the majority of Arteta’s team emerged.

As Vieira served the first of a three-game domestic ban over the weekend after receiving a red card against Burnley, he was expected to rejoin the team for the European match.

However, Vieira was absent entirely from the main group on Tuesday, and Arsenal have not revealed the reason for the midfielder’s absence, but Arteta will be expected to deliver an update in his pre-game press conference later in the day.

Arsenal need just one more point to reach the knockout stages of the Champions League as they welcome Lens to the Emirates Stadium.

Considering the Gunners lost their last encounter against the French side, they’ll want to make amends and also get over the line in Europe’s premier club competition.
