Following their international appearances, Man Utd players have resumed training. Here is what we could see in the most recent photos shot at Carrington.
This Sunday, Manchester United will play Everton at Goodison Park to resume their Premier League activity.
Over the previous two weeks, many of Erik ten Hag’s players—who are playing for their country for the third time this season—have been away on international duty. Before a busy winter schedule that will see the Reds attempt to move up the table and go to the Champions League knockout stages, this is the last break.
Over that time, several Ten Hag’s United players have stayed at Carrington, and those who were there on Wednesday were training once more in anticipation of their matchup with the Toffees. A former Rugby League champion was among the returning players, as were two long-time absentees who participated in the session to varying degrees.
Licha’s watching brief
Lisandro Martinez was watching his teammates from the sidelines while they were playing on the grass at Carrington. The Argentine is anticipated to be sidelined until the new year as he continues to heal from a foot ailment.
Shaw with the group
Luke Shaw hasn’t played since August, but on Wednesday he participated in full first-team drills and completed several shuttle runs to increase his fitness. It’s hoped the left-back will be ready to play against Everton.
A visitor from rugby league royalty
Kevin Sinfield, a rugby league icon and player for the Leeds Rhinos, was at Carrington chatting with assistant coach Steve McClaren. Next month, the 43-year-old will raise funds for the MND Association by running seven ultra marathons in seven days. Not many will want to be tackled by him.
Young Stars
Many young United players were given the opportunity to shine in the absence of those jet-setting Reds. Among those in attendance were Sam Murray, Sonny Aljofree, Willy Kambwala, and Jack Fletcher.
A point to prove
Alejandro Garnacho was left out of the Argentina squad because of his form, even though few had anticipated that he would have stayed at Carrington during the break. With a purpose to make, the 19-year-old is clearly pushing himself during practice.
