The Reds midfielder scored twice after the hour to assist his team overcome Slobodan Rubezic’s first goal at Puskas Arena and reverse the tide of the match.
To complete the comeback, Szoboszlai scored high into the net from close range after receiving a pass from Martin Adam. He had previously finished low into the bottom corner of the goal after overcoming multiple defenders into the penalty area.
In extra time, Adam Nagy scored the game-winning goal, and Hungary clinched first place in Group G of the Euro 2024 qualifying tournament.
