The Dutch media wasn’t thrilled with Gakpo’s most recent overseas performance.
Gakpo received a 5.5 from Football Oranje for his performance, noting that he was wasteful in front of goal yesterday night.

“Snapped at shots and occasionally even got in the way of his teammates.” He did provide opportunities, but not to the extent that we would have liked.
Voetbal Primeur, who rated the Dutchman a six out of ten, were a little more forgiving.
According to the publication, Gakpo was just getting settled into the game when he was removed at the hour mark.
“Gakpo was searching before halftime, but he seemed to loosen up in the second half,” they noted.
He frequently succeeded in getting past the Irish defense because to his quickness. To his own dismay, however, Gakpo was the first to go.

After suffering an injury against Tottenham back in September, Gakpo has found it difficult to reintegrate into Liverpool’s front three.
This season, the former PSV player has seen action in the midfield; in the victory against Brentford last Saturday, Jurgen Klopp started him in his starting lineup.
Gakpo is a very versatile player, something Klopp has already praised. However, it seems like he would be better served up front rather than in the middle of the field.
Even if he didn’t play his best for Ronald Koeman’s team last night, it’s likely because he hasn’t played much for Liverpool since his injury comeback.
