LOS ANGELES (November 15, 2023, Wednesday) —  Jonathan Pérez, a midfielder for the LA Galaxy, was selected for the U-23 Mexican National Team, which will hold a training camp from November 12–21, the team announced Monday. Moreover, midfielder Brett Phan and goalkeeper Owen Pratt of LA Galaxy Academy were called up to the U.S. U-16 Men’s Youth National Team for the first training camp of the 2023–24 cycle, which took place at Dignity Health Sports Park from Nov. 12–19.

In addition to playing friendly matches against Club América and Pumas UNAM, the U-23 Mexican National Team will train at the national team’s High-Performance Center alongside the senior national team. Pérez, 20, made six appearances for the LA Galaxy in all competitions during the 2023 season, recording one assist. In addition, during the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro Regular Season, the Pico Rivera, California native scored two goals and provided two assists in 14 games (14 starts) while on loan for LA Galaxy II.
