Darwin. Luis Suarez was told to reach out to fellow countryman Nunez, who is having a successful run with Liverpool after a tumultuous first season in English football.
After collecting a red card for a “headbutt,” Nunez had a difficult time adjusting to life at Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp was left wanting more from him overall.
After a season together, Klopp has lauded his No. 9 for his “exceptional” defensive application and game connection, two attributes he had previously mentioned wanting to see from his players.
Suarez, whom Nunez admires, has been there for the 24-year-old since he arrived at Anfield. The former No. 7 has received a few “warnings” and has had to adapt to the deceitful tactics used in English football.
After a game against AUF TV, Suarez reportedly told ESPN Uruguay that he “has potential, technical ability, and physical power that he is demonstrating.”

“These are things that we are happy about as teammates; we are different, we are from different generations, and I am happy for the moment that he is experiencing in his club and in the national team,” I said to him as a teammate before the Brazil game.
