‘Hero back to hometown’: Rashford tried hard in personal trianing session preparing to complete England duty

MARCUS RASHFORD, who missed the start of camp owing to personal circumstances, has arrived for his England assignment.

The Manchester United player might play in the forthcoming matches against North Macedonia and Malta.

Rashford was absent because of “personal matters” at the beginning of Gareth Southgate’s training camp.

For the same reason, Kalvin Phillips also put off joining, but he is anticipated to return shortly.

Jude Bellingham and Levi Colwill also withdrew from the squad, bringing the total number of withdrawals from the original group to five. The FA verified the pair’s postponement at the same time.

Three withdrawals had already hurt manager Gareth Southgate.

Callum Wilson, Lewis Dunk, and James Maddison are all sidelined by injuries.

Rico Lewis, a standout for Manchester City, and Cole Palmer, a former teammate who made an outstanding start to his Chelsea career, have both been called up for the first time to the Three Lions camp.

After receiving his first call-up, Aston Villa center-back Ezri Konsa may also get his first cap for England.

After missing the Fulham triumph due to injury, Rashford made his comeback to the United starting lineup in the team’s 1-0 success over Luton over the weekend.

Despite the forward’s lone Premier League goal this year, Southgate has given him the go-ahead to resume his scoring ways.

“In the end — and respectfully — with the big bucks, comes the big pressure,” the England manager stated.

He is the one who scored every goal in the previous season.

“I’m sure not even Harry believes that I have to be the one to score.

“Maybe Hojlund’s goal at United will help, but Marcus has a history of scoring goals, so it will probably happen again.

“He just needs to pick up a couple before he goes off on his own.”
