Recent photos show Liverpool’s top players training with the national squad before an upcoming set of international games.

Henderson’s humiliating fall from grace continues after his former Liverpool teammate is relieved of his leadership.

Despite having a former Liverpool captain on its roster, Jordan Henderson’s Al-Ettifaq squad has struggled to attract fans in the Saudi Pro League.

On Saturday, the Al-Ettifaq game Jordan Henderson was a part of had the lowest crowd the team had ever seen in the Saudi Pro League, with only 610 fans in attendance.

The former Liverpool captain, now 33 years old, was enticed to the Middle East this summer, and his move has been heavily derided by fans and experts.

There have been bumps along the road at Henderson’s new club, and the move has repercussions for England internationally after he was booed by fans last month.

Even though Henderson is used to playing in front of significantly smaller crowds in Saudi Arabia after leaving Anfield last year, he saw one of the lowest turnouts of the season this past weekend as Steven Gerrard’s team was held to a scoreless draw at Al-Fayha.

While Henderson’s attendance of 610 was a career low, he is far from the only star player to be struggling on the international scene recently.

Former Liverpool teammate and club captain Roberto Firmino also had a weekend to forget after being left on the bench for a second straight game against Al-Ahli.

In his first game at Al-Ahli, the former Anfield favorite scored a hat trick, making him an instant hero among the club’s followers. However, he has gone scoreless in his subsequent 13 games for Al-Ahli. Former AC Milan and Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie wore the captain’s armband in Firmino’s absence.

Many worldwide superstars, including Neymar and Karim Benzema, decided to move to the Middle East this summer. However, a recent piece in The Sun claimed that several of these new players are ‘hating every minute’ of playing in the Saudi Pro League.

Henderson signed a three-year contract with Al-Ettifaq this summer to play for the team currently coached by Gerrard, and he reportedly earns more than £700,000 per week.

Al-Ettifaq started the season brightly, but they have only won one of their last seven games, dropping them to the seventh slot in the league. Firmino and Al-Ahli are performing slightly better as a team, currently holding the third spot in a league that was won by Al-Hilal.
