Inspired by the streets of South East London and the cultural influences he experienced growing up, Sancho debuted his first range of footwear and gear in partnership with Nike (NYSE:NKE -0.18%) Football. His connection to his hometown, which shaped him into the baller he is today, is celebrated on the album “SE11 Sancho Collection.”

“This isn’t just for me, Jadon. It’s for all the London ballers who were told they wouldn’t make it.” Every time I take the field of play, I represent them all. It is an honor and a joy to have the support of London’s youth and to release a collection that speaks to them all.

The word “MEGZ,” which is derived from the word “nutmeg” and is synonymous with Sancho’s skillful style of play, is one of the cultural references on the side of the boot. Beneath, in homage to the signs prohibiting football in many of London’s housing estates, is a “NO BALL GAMES” sign.

It’s just the way things are in London; we did shows everywhere. You just needed a football. We would all go into trouble every time one guy with a crooked foot broke a window.

The tiny concrete pitches that dot Kennington are called “Blue Park,” a moniker that Jadon and his friends gave to them. It is neatly scribbled on the laces. “#SE11 4 J@DON,” written on the tongue, represents Sancho’s connection to the area.
