Liverpool’s Standard Chartered Men’s Player of the Month for October is Mohamed Salah.
In September, the Egyptian won an award and then, in October, he won a fan poll on Liverpoolfc.com, beating out Dominik Szoboszlai and Darwin Nunez.
In October, Salah was red hot, scoring six goals in five games to help Liverpool beat Everton 2-0 at Anfield in the Merseyside derby.
His post-AXA Training Centre comments read: “It’s always good to win it, but like I stated a few times before, the most important thing is to assist the squad to win games.
“We won a few games in October, it was a good time for us, and I’m hoping that this trend continues.”
Salah has been on fire this year, as seen by his ten goals and four assists across all competitions.
Early in the month of October, he scored twice in a tie against Brighton & Hove Albion, and then scored twice more in a derby win over Everton. After scoring hat tricks against both Toulouse and Nottingham Forest, he continued his scoring streak.
The No. 11 player commented, “It’s always nice to score goals for such a big club like this.” I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: “The most important thing is scoring goals on the big stage and helping the team win games.”
The support of the fans is something I experience every day,” he concluded. Seven years in, I still feel it every time I come here.
Salah said, “I’m a happy person” when asked about how he felt about Liverpool and his own start to the season. I have an unending supply of joy. On and off the field, I do all I can to assist the younger players. I just want to do my best at all times and set a good example for the team.
“We have a few young guys. The team has some guys who are adjusting splendidly. They are succeeding magnificently.
Just keep going, this is a crazy time of year, and I’m sure the boss will be rotating us out a lot. Simply said, everyone needs to be at the top of their game all the time.
