Striker Mason Greenwood, who is on loan from Manchester United, demonstrated once more why he was a star in the Getafe uniform by assisting Borja Mayoral in scoring the game’s only goal to overcome Cadiz.
Greenwood was loaned by MU to Getafe in the summer of 2023. He “opened the door” against Celta Vigo in La Liga last month, and he has since scored three goals for the Spanish team. Greenwood’s last two goals came in the midweek Spanish King’s Cup matchup with Tardienta.
In addition to the three goals mentioned above, Greenwood also had two further assists (one in La Liga and one in the Spanish King’s Cup). Last night, the 22-year-old wonder continued his outstanding play and provided his third assist since joining Getafe. Getafe defeated Cadiz thanks to his vital pass, which allowed teammate Mayoral to score the game’s lone goal. Round 12 of La Liga, at the latest.

When defensive midfielder Djené was sent off for his second yellow card in the 44th minute, coach Pepe Bordalas’ squad was down to just ten players. Mayoral scored in the minute seventy-six. After this victory, Getafe gained eight points over the group with the red light, moving up to 11th position in the rankings with 15 points.
Greenwood is apparently settling into life in Spain rather well and is “extremely happy” at Getafe. A source who spoke with The Sun said that he wants to stay at the Madrid suburban club for the foreseeable future. The source stated, “He’s received an incredible welcome from the players and fans.” He genuinely believed that his career was over. Now, he is happy and excited to play more, not worrying about the future.
Meanwhile, there is a lot of conjecture that MU would call Greenwood back considering how unsatisfactory their wing studs have been, especially in light of Antony’s lucrative contract.
