Reportedly on Liverpool’s transfer radar, Lionel Messi has called him “the best young prospect in the world.”
Messi was just honored as the best player in the world for the 2022/23 season by receiving the seventh Ballon d’Or trophy of his career.
The Kopa Trophy, given to the season’s top rookie, was also presented on Monday night. While writer Fabrizio Romano disclosed on Twitter that former Liverpool target Jude Bellingham won, Messi did not initially vote for the Englishman.
Instead, the Argentine great said that the world’s best emerging potential is reportedly Reds target Jamal Musiala.
There have been rumors that Liverpool may make a surprise summer 2019 transfer for Musiala. The rumors persist, despite the fact that the Bayern Munich player shows no signs of wanting to come to Anfield.
The fact that Messi recognizes his developing skill is another proof that the Reds should do all in their power to bring this about.
Messi hails Musiala
Recent rumors have Liverpool strongly interested in signing Musiala, which has caught many off guard.
Just as Bellingham’s drawn out drama felt to many, it doesn’t feel like a pursuit Liverpool will win, though. There seems to be no evident reason for Musiala to quit Bayern. As a member of the German national team, he has reached the pinnacle of his career.
The 20-year-old may not be the team’s MVP just now, but that will change. Getting out of here isn’t necessary.
Even the German champion must wonder why on earth they would let him compete. In addition to Messi’s praise, Musiala has received several acclaims. The Daily Mail quotes Jurgen Klinsmann as calling him a “phenomenal” player. A player of his caliber is not released.
Nonetheless, the speculation persists.
Given his prominence, if Musiala ever leaves Bayern, he would likely sign with a major club like Manchester City or Real Madrid.
But Liverpool, like Bellingham, could think they have a shot despite the odds. However, Musiala will continue to receive accolades no matter where his career takes him.
