Cody Gakpo has now elaborated on why he wasn’t caught off guard by Darwin Nunez’s hot streak for Liverpool.

In light of Nunez’s game-winning goal in yesterday night’s EFL Cup final between Liverpool and Bournemouth, Gakpo made these comments.

The Dutch international also mentioned that nobody at the club is shocked by his current play.

Gakpo said that Nunez’s superb training is to thank for his impressive physical shape.

It was an unbelievable goal,” Gakpo told Liverpool’s official website.

There was a lot of high-caliber play, and Trent [Alexander-Arnold] made a nice pass. Darwin took bold initiative by cutting inside, and the resulting goal was outstanding.

He went on to say, “I think for the players it’s not really a surprise, since we see his quality every time in training and games, too.
