Uncouth manner to treat players

Barcelona apologized to Ilkay Gundogan and his wife for their lack of support when he joined.

Gundogan joined Barça on a free transfer from Manchester City in the summer, but he and his wife, Sara Arfaoui, felt “abandoned” and complained to the club.

SPORT reported that the former Borussia Dortmund player expected greater housing, travel, and family help from Barcelona.

The German started poorly on the pitch.

Barcelona’s financial troubles prevented them from signing additional players, including Gundogan.

He was signed before their LaLiga debut against Getafe.

SPORT said that Gundogan is more concerned about the club culture because players must work other jobs to support their journey to training.

The 33-year-old chastised his teammates for their indifference after their humiliating El Classico loss last week.
