Sharing in an interview with Arsenal Buzz, the English star wants to bring about the same impact as what Van Dijk created when he came to Liverpool.

In the summer transfer window, Arsenal broke the bank to bring in blockbuster contract Declan Rice. The English star received great expectations, even Mikel Arteta believed that Rice would become the nucleus to bring the club to the championship.

And up to now, the former West Ham star is still completing the task well. Not only does he bring stability to the midfield, Rice also shows the class of a top star with decisive goals.

 Rice is playing impressively. 

Sharing about his decision to join Arsenal, he said:

” Obviously it’s very special. When I signed for Arsenal, they hadn’t won the Premier League or the Champions League for a long time, so when I came here I wanted to be one of those players who can make a big impact, like Virgil van Dijk did at Liverpool, pushing the team forward and achieving big things.

Looking at last year’s team, it was amazing, young and exciting, so fitting in was easy. I was really lucky because everyone was so great, which made the adjustment process really comfortable.

Last year we came very close to winning the championship and this year we can go one step better. I’m sure we can achieve great things. It will be a challenge and we have to overcome it.”
