‘NO WORDS…’: What Onana Said After Garnacho Deleted His Post to Congrat Man Utd Win Cause ‘Meaning Reason’?

In response to his Manchester United teammate Alejandro Garnacho’s contentious removed post, Andre Onana unleashed a furious social media message. Onana has jumped to the young winger’s defense following his exploits in the Champions League, even if Garnacho may receive a ban for his antics.

Onana’s last-minute save of Jordan Larsson’s penalty in the 97th minute against FC Copenhagen in Group A on Tuesday night ignited wild celebrations at Old Trafford.

United would have faced an embarrassing early departure if they hadn’t won their opening two games against Bayern Munich and Galatasaray.

After the match, a number of United players took to social media to commend the 27-year-old goalkeeper and Harry Maguire, who extended his comeback by scoring the game-winning goal.

But Garnacho’s post, which included two gorilla emojis in the text and a photo of the team celebrating Onana’s save, sparked debate.

Less than an hour after the event, Garnacho removed the message, but the Football Association has since asked for his comments.

Onana, however, has responded angrily to criticism on X (previously Twitter) and Instagram, defending Garnacho.

“People have no right to decide what offends me. I understand @agarnacho7’s meaning exactly: strength and power. This should not be pursued any further. AO24,” wrote Onana.

Onana defended Garnacho on X and Instagram

The Cameroonian international posted two pictures of the couple cuddling in addition to the identical one Garnacho used in his removed post.

Even with Onana’s public defense and Garnacho’s prompt removal, the Argentine star might still face a fine and suspension.

Edinson Cavani received a £100,000 fine and a three-game suspension in 2020, two months after moving to England, for using the term “Gracias Negrito” in an Instagram comment to thank a little fan.

After deleting the remark, which roughly translated to “thanks, little black boy” or “guy with black hair,” Cavani apologized.

Although the Uruguayan veteran admitted to an FA misconduct accusation for an extreme infringement of the rules pertaining to racism, he did not avoid punishment from an independent panel.
