On Thursday, Liverpool will host Toulouse at Anfield, hoping to get a good Premier League home result. The Reds are coming into this game with plenty of confidence after beating Everton 2-0 in the Merseyside derby last weekend.

Jurgen Klopp will likely start with a 4-3-3 formation but may make adjustments to his starting lineup. The Merseyside giants will rely heavily on Darwin Nunez to carry the offensive load in the final third.

Liverpool is expected to field a 4-3-3 formation against Toulouse.

Defence

For the Reds, Alisson Becker will start between the pipes after keeping a clean sheet in his most recent league game. Liverpool will rely on Virgil Van Dijk and Joel Matip to anchor their defense and keep the Reds in the game for the full 90 minutes.

Trent Alexander-Arnold will play right back, and Kostas Tsimikas will try to make a name for himself on the left side of the defense. In the opposing half, both players will have room to maneuver and can provide solid backup for the front three.

Joe Gomez will sit on the bench and cover the defense.

Midfield

Liverpool’s midfield will consist of Ryan Gravenberch, Wataru Endo, and Curtis Jones as they look to exert control of the ball in the central third of the pitch. It would be up to the three of them to provide some quality scoring opportunities within the Toulouse defensive third.

Both Alexis Mac Allister and Harvey Elliott will have some time off and rest on the bench in case they’re needed in the second half.

Attack

On the left wing, Luis Diaz will want to make use of his speed, while Mohamed Salah will attempt to make an impact from the right. The Egyptian star will be feeling confident after scoring both of his team’s goals in their recent Merseyside derby victory over Everton.

Klopp has decided to start Darwin Nunez at forward. On Thursday night, against the French team, he’d want to score a goal.

Unfortunately for Diogo Jota, he will have to settle for a spot on the bench, though he may be called upon to make an impact late in the game.
