When Brazil played Uruguay in a qualification match for the 2026 World Cup in South America, forward Neymar was gravely hurt in a 0–2 loss.

Neymar cried as he was taken off the pitch at halftime. In the 44th minute, the striker, who is 31 years old, fell and injured his left knee. He was mobbed by players from both sides, all of whom were curious about his wound. As Richarlison came on for the injured Neymar, the Brazilian clutched his face with both hands. The Brazilian health service has kept quiet about his wound.

   

Neymar currently competes in the Saudi Pro League for Al Hilal Club. He received criticism for his play in their 1-1 tie with Venezuela on October 13. Neymar’s injuries are really severe, and he will be out for a long time. The 31-year-old striker missed the entire season after having ankle surgery in March. He finally made his Al Hilal debut on September 15.
