Preseason Laker Gabe Vincent injury update

Gabe Vincent will not play against the Golden State Warriors on Friday. The 2023–24 NBA season is coming up quickly. The new guard for the Los Angeles Lakers was hurt, but the details weren’t clear at first. Dave McMenamin of ESPN says that later, Lakers head coach Darvin Ham gave a very important report on Vincent.

As a safety step for Vincent, who was having back pain, Ham said, “This is what McMenamin reported.”

It’s clear that the situation will need to be watched. Thanks to the fact that this was only a protection, things are looking up.

Vince became well-known in the NBA with the Miami Heat last year. The guard, who is about to start his fifth season in the NBA, scored 9.4 points per game for Miami in the 2022–23 season. During the playoffs, when Tyler Herro was hurt and couldn’t play, he was very strong.

Vincent ended up scoring an average of 12.7 points per game in the playoffs. His three-point average also went through the roof, rising from 33.4% during the regular season to 37.8% during the playoffs.

The Lakers liked Vincent so much that they signed him during the summer. As a guard, Vincent is expected to give them the extra depth they need. Vincent might make another step forward for the better and have the best season of his career in LA.

It looks like D’Angelo Russell will be Los Angeles’ starting point guard. At this point, even Austin Reaves could get some reps. Vincent will likely be the Lakers’ main backup point guard, though. It will be interesting to see how well he does as the second unit’s boss.

With Gabe Vincent still out with an injury, the Lakers will be extra careful as the practice goes on. Vincent should be ready for the start of the regular season, though, unless something goes wrong.
