Klay Thompson, a player for the Golden State Warriors, is known for playing with a chip on his shoulder. After reports surfaced that Thompson and the Warriors were at an impasse on a contract extension, Thompson shared an Instagram video set to Tupac’s “Me Against the World” with the caption, “The type an energy I’m on all season.”

 

It’s possible that Thompson’s usual approach to the game has nothing to do with the recent report about his contract. Given that this is probably his last chance to secure long term money in the NBA, the Warriors star has even more incentive to have a strong season.

Thompson and the Warriors appear to want to come to terms on a contract, so it’s feasible they’ll do so before the start of the upcoming season. While this raises more questions, waiting until the end of the season to determine the best course of action may not be the worst option for Thompson and the team.

The Warriors would be thrilled if Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green decided to spend their whole careers with the organization, as it is incredibly rare to keep a core together for this long.
