Both Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix of Barcelona scored as Portugal annihilated Bosnia and Herzegovina on Monday.
Portugal was already qualified for Euro 2024, but they didn’t hold back in a rout of Zenica.
Five minutes in, Cristiano Ronaldo scored the game’s first goal. Fifteen minutes later, he scored again. Just inside the penalty area, Cancelo scored into the upper corner, and then Bruno Fernandes made it 3-0.
Four minutes before halftime, Felix scored Portugal’s fifth goal. The Barca striker was picked out inside the area and calmly converted with the outside of his boot.
Unfortunately for Portugal, they were unable to add to their 5-0 halftime lead, and they had to settle for the final score. Cancelo was given the entire 90 minutes by manager Roberto Martinez, although Felix only played the first 78.
The two players are heading back to Barcelona to get ready for Sunday’s game against Athletic Club.
