The Liverpool star was named the Premier League’s greatest player so far and was given the nickname ‘Rolls-Royce of a player’

Dominik Szoboszlai, who joined Liverpool in the summer, was named Premier League Player of the Year by Don Hutchison.

After Liverpool paid the £60 million release clause in Szoboszlai’s contract with RB Leipzig, he became the club’s fourth most expensive acquisition ever. With such a hefty price tag and the pressure of following in his hero Steven Gerrard’s footsteps by wearing the No. 8 jersey, the Hungary captain has undoubtedly come through.

The success the Reds have had to this point in the season is largely due to Szoboszlai’s efforts. He has contributed to Jurgen Klopp’s team’s rise to fourth place in the early Premier League standings, advancement to the round of 16 in the Carabao Cup, and three consecutive wins in the Europa League by scoring two fantastic goals in 11 games.

Although Alexis Mac Allister and Wataru Endo, two other midfield arrivals, have struggled to adapt to life at Anfield, Szoboszlai has been a smashing success. Former Liverpool midfielder Hutchison, therefore, thinks the 22-year-old is the finest player in the English Premier League at the moment.

For his part, Hutchison told ESPN, “In my opinion, he is just a Rolls-Royce of a player.” I saw him quite frequently while he was playing for Hungary in the Bundesliga.

Even though I was aware of his brilliance, I was stunned by how quickly he rose to prominence after joining the Liverpool club.

Hutchison thinks Roberto De Zerbi, manager of Brighton & Hove Albion, is the greatest of the season, while Tottenham Hotspur’s James Maddison, who cost the club £40 million, is the biggest surprise and best transfer of the year.

The transfers of Erik ten Hag and Manchester United have disappointed Hutchison the most, but Divock Origi’s move from AC Milan to Nottingham Forest has been deemed the worst in history by the Liverpool fan favorite.

Hutchison’s preseason all-Premier League XI also featured Mohamed Salah and Alisson Becker in addition to Szoboszlai.

Tripper, Van de Ven, Saliba, and Udogie, Szoboszlai, Rodri, and Maddison, Salah, Son, and Izak, and Alisson in goal. The likes of Bowen, Ward-Prowse, Neto, Estupinan, Haaland, Odegaard, and Watkins were employed interchangeably as replacements.
